How to view your speaker notes in Zoom

I viewed a webinar replay the other day and in the chat, several people asked whether it’s possible to see your PowerPoint Notes while sharing your screen in Slide Show mode in Zoom. The presenter and host didn’t know the answer and had I attended live, I could’ve shown them how.

We all know that presenting online to a remote audience is very different from being in the room with them or providing a slidedoc.

Your slides should be visually sparse, not dull, and text-heavy. They should also change frequently – ideally about every 20-30 seconds. Dividing content across multiple slides does not change the talk time – and often it makes it quicker.

Subtle animation and builds also help introduce a dynamic element and changes what your audience sees on screen and keeps their attention from drifting off to another browser tab or message in their inbox.

So without further adieu, below is a short video recording showing how to view your speaker notes in Zoom using a single monitor. No dual monitor required here! And don’t forget to update Zoom periodically as they release frequent updates. They’re now on version 5.2.3 as of this writing, which has a BETA feature where you can share your screen with PowerPoint as Virtual Background provided your computer supports Virtual Background and you have a green screen, which you can buy on Amazon for about $100.

Let me know if you found this useful and Happy Zooming. 😊
